Diabetic retinopathy is an eye disease known as the retina in the blood vessels in the part of your eye that usually affects both eyes. If left untreated, diabetic retinopathy can injure and damage your retina. Diabetic retinopathy is the most common cause of vision loss for people with diabetes.
